Nut Allergy - Is It Possible to Overcome Nut Allergies?
Whenever an individual is truly dealing with a nut allergy, it is very rare that they are ever going to be able to overcome the problem. Any doctor is going to be quick to tell you that there is only about a 20% chance that you're going to naturally outgrow a problem with nut allergies. Even if you were to outgrow it, being in that small percentage of people, you would still need to be cautious for the rest of your life out of fear that a recurrence could happen. If your caught by a surprise allergic reaction, you may not be prepared for it and it could mean your very life.
Unfortunately, there is no medical treatment that is available currently which even helps to overcome the nut allergy at all. There are several different things that can be done medically in order for you to deal with the problem should it happen to occur. For example, mild allergies that happen as a result of cross contaminated foods or items can usually be overcome with the use of an over-the-counter antihistamine.
For a more severe reaction, however, you need to make sure that you're carrying and epinephrine autoinjector at all times. These are only used in the case of anaphylaxis, a severe reaction that occurs in which your airways swell shut. If this should take place, this autoinjector can be the only thing that can save you at that point.
There are also some natural methods of treating nut allergies which many people have claimed to have helped. For example, going on an all raw food diet can clean your system enough that it may be able to handle this type of food. There are many naturalists who think that allergic reactions happen as a result of buildup of toxins in our liver and the lining of our colon. A raw food diet may help to cleanse your body enough that it can overcome the allergy. It may also be that you are having an allergic reaction because you are dehydrated. Look into the water cure as many people have claimed to have been helped with it.
Even if you are able to overcome your nut allergy, you should still be cautious for the rest of your life. Don't allow a surprise reaction to catch you with your guard down. Always make sure that you are prepared in case something should happen.
